This Hackademy 'After Hours' eventbrings pupils, families and GCSE Computing students together on the Friday evening before Fireworks Night.

The aim is to have an evening of family fun connected with the theme of creating computer games.

Even if you have never programmed before, the event is about sharing ideas, collaborating and finding out about great tools to play and create games with. No previous experience is necessary - all that is needed is an interest in games, computers and imagination.

Teams will made up of pupils and families. Suggested maximum of 2 children per adult. It is hoped that each team will be supported by our GCSE Computing students. Teams will compete against other teams on a games programming challenge. A suggested age range for children would be 8 - 18 years, other ages welcome.

For Hungry Hackers: We will organise takeaway pizzas to be delivered and provide drinks for thirsty hackers. Toni's Pizzas, Preston have kindly agreed to sponsor this event.

A suggested contribution of £5 per family will help us to cover costs of prizes and drinks etc, however, please do not let this discourage you from wanting to come.

At the end of the night, teams and/or individuals get a chance to win some *amazing* prizes.

'Hackademy After Hours' will be held in the Guild Training centre at Our Lady's High School, ie. not in the main school building.

If you or your organisation would like to sponsor this event, please contact the host Alan O'Donohoe using the link on the right.
